A pastor turned author, a cancer survivor turned truth-seeker — Nathan's story is one of breaking chains and discovering freedom.
I spent over twenty years in ministry doing everything right — or so I thought. I preached the sermons, led the worship, visited the sick, and showed up for every committee meeting. But beneath the surface, I was exhausted. My faith had become a transaction: if I performed well enough, God would bless me. If I failed, He would withdraw.
Then came 2006. A cancer diagnosis shattered the illusion that my performance could protect me. In the darkness of that season, I began to encounter a God who wasn't waiting for me to get it right — a God who had already made me right through Christ.
That awakening changed everything. It led me to write Finally Free and to create spaces where others can ask the honest questions I was afraid to ask for so long.
Began serving in full-time pastoral ministry with passion and conviction, believing that hard work and dedication would earn God's favor and secure a blessed life.
Diagnosed with cancer. The illness stripped away every pretense of performance-based faith and forced a raw, honest encounter with God that would redefine everything.
Began studying and teaching the message of union with Christ — that believers are not merely forgiven sinners, but new creations, one with Christ in every way.
Launched a non-emergency medical transportation company, extending the same heart of service and compassion into the business world and community.
Published Finally Free: Stepping Out of Transactional Faith and Into Union — a book born from decades of wrestling, wondering, and ultimately, resting.
